Well, Mr Audubon has IP banned me from the original Audubon Talks forum. So, as I was saying there before I was rudely interrupted, with Tyler's permission, I will volunteer to do some promotional work for this new forum, so that the discussions continue and everyone can find this website.
BTW, I can no longer see the old Audubon Talks, so if anyone feels the urge to keep me informed, please post the goings on here.

Looks like things are going well here -- only been up half a day and this board went from a couple of users and a couple of post to over 150 posts in a day, 20 new members in a day and over 100 different guests. I imagine now that you have to register to post that the membership will climb dramatically.
Anyone know what is going on at the old place? I have been banned and cannot even read the board.
By the way, I got a new suit and put a flower in my lapel to celebrate the birth of this new board (you will need a little class to post here, I think)

Nice to see that those with an axe to grind won't be able to drive others off. It will be interesting to see how this forum develops...hopefully we won't have to 'book 'em, Danno! So far, nice look!

We aren't going to start all that up again, are we? Not if people behave themselves.

I have no idea what issue several members of the OLD forum have with Vince Gatto. He seems to me as someone who searches out the answers and reports them. He never had any personal animus; he just "reported the facts." I am thankful he joined this site. His posts were devoid of ANY personal attacks, unless "they" came after him. Then, he did not suffer fools too well. I am so thankful Vince Gatto gave his apparent approval and came here. Vince Gatto is someone I think researches things well before he shoots off his mouth; unlike many others.

There was no reason to shut down the old board. Bob, if you needed someone to take over why didn't you reach out to other people? I really could care less who sued who or who threatened who, the board if operated properly would be free of much of the BS we have had to endure.
Some of us have experience on other message boards unrelated to Audubon and there is none of the childish games and name calling permitted. Members who monopolize the board, post repetitious, slanderous or distasteful messages are simply banned. Their IP address is logged and any attempts to rejoin are canceled. We haven't had moderation in quite some time, otherwise we wouldn't have had to endure piglets this, boxman that, Mr A this, Vince that.... etc....We all are entitled to our opinions but when those opinions include threats and names being dropped than it's time to start banning people. That's just the cold hard truth at how message boards must operate in order to survive and remain relevant. Even with all of the crap we have had to endure, there has been a tremendous amount of TRUTH put out onto this Audubon Talks board. Let's ensure we don't allow certain people to hijack this board. The rules apply for everyone. Even the best of us cannot help being drawn into the discord when malicious posters are left unchallenged so we require a moderator who has the time to keep an eye on the board. If it wasn't for Audubon Talks the TRUTH on many issues would have never seen the light of day.
If the old board can raised from the ashes I'd take it over and add a few additional moderators. Why was the board shut down?

If the old board is raised from the dead, it will be a "zombie" board carrying the same stigma of being unsecured as it did before with who knows who that creeped into it, hacked out e-mail addresses, read PM's and threatened posters outside the scope of what happened on that board. While I do not personally know the person who runs this board, I know his name. I know that he comes from a respected Audubon family and that he serves in the military. If a combat hardened Sergeant in the Marine Corps can't keep order here, I don't know who can. Tyler has also said that he is willing to allow others to moderate parts of the board. Why not PM him and volunteer. It's a new day and a new era (without Roy) let's support this board and move on.

I don't have to keep moving from one name to the other to keep people from hacking into my account.

What does being hacked have to do with having 15 screen names? You change your password not your name.
I can confirm that Pasta is in fact Vince.

Why was the board shut down? He said he was looking for someone and was speaking to a few people. I gather from the threads that he was told by Zane to shut down or Zane would expose him. Dave
