The US uses smart bombs in the Middle East to target Terrorists
Terrorists use dumb bombers in the US to target AmericansFaisal ShahzadFaisal Shahzad is a terrorist. Last Saturday, he drove an SUV into Times Square in New York City with the intention of causing mayhem when the bombs he placed inside exploded in the heart of the theater district. 1. The bombs included gasoline and and propane tanks, that were to be ignited by fire crackers. The fire crackers failed to ignite the bomb, but the racket they made when they "popped" alerted police.2. Shahzad scraped the VIN number off the dashboard But failed to remove it from the engine compartment and transmission. Within hours the SUV was traced to the original owner who sold it to Shahzad.3. The SUV was sold through Craig's List over the Internet. Shahzad responded to the ad with an e-mail address that could easily be traced back to him.Shahzad was identified and arrested within two days. Authorities believe that other members of a terror cell and co-conspirators are involved and will be arrested as well. This attack ranks right up there with the shoe bomber, whose matches went out as he attempted to explode his shoes on an airliner and the recent airline underwear bomber who succeeded in nothing more that ruining his underpants.

That bomb was never made to go off, that bomb was made to see what our reactions would be. They did it to us all the time in Iraq. They want to see what your standard operating procedure is. That way they can figure out a way to get you. That was a probe attack in NY. What they know now they can use against us later. I can guarantee that next time all those idiots who gathered around to watch will get taken out. Here is a scenario: They put another bomb in time square with a weak charge. within the radius of that bomb they place similar ones. They learned in the probe the distance we block off civilians from the scene, the distance the bomb squad will set up shop, the amount of time it takes to react, etc... Now while the crowds get bigger and bigger to watch they set those ones off. Right off the bat they take out a couple hundred people. set off the ones under the bomb squad and so on. The media can make it seem like a foiled attack but I see it as a probe. AQ always pays morons to probe. I agree. We have seen it again and again where a response is met with additional delayed devices

I hope you're wrong Tyler, because that is some scary sh!t. However, it certainly seems logical and possible. A lot of people probably took comfort in these types of blunders, it is unsettling to think they can be that 'devious.'

This month is the 25th anniversary of the MOVE incident in Philly. Before there were foreign terrorists, there were domestic radicals and urban terrorists. The Philly Police knew how to handle them. I believe our own Johnnypeppers was involved in this action, and an eyewitness to history. In the video Frank Rizzo describes the Philly PD as an "army", able to take care of anything. www.philly.com/philly/news/93137669.htmlI think that 21st Century law enforcement is perfectly capable of handling "The War on Terror", when they are let loose.

Yes, I WAS there...a day I will NEVER FORGET....never. Jim Ramp and I were friends since 63 and went to Stakeout(SWAT) together. I went to Presby Hosp to pick up his gear ...they wouldn't let me see him one last time. Very emotional time as is now thinking about that day. As I said...I will never forget or forgive...that's God's job...them M.F. POS John

Thanks for helping us remember a great man, Mayor Frank Rizzo.
Additionally; it is too easy to forget the sacrifices made every day by the Philadelphia Police Department, and all police officers across this country.
This video shows how hard it must be for them to protect all of us, day in and day out in spite of the constant harassment from certain members of the public.
Our Armed Forces face the same thing all over the world. Yet, they serve. What great people.
Mr. Peppers; I thank you for your service; and I can only imagine what it must it be like to have experienced what you did; and what many other police officers experience during their careers. It must be difficult. Just know that there are many who are grateful that our police officers, and our Armed Forces personnel made a career choice to serve.
They make it possible for all of us to live without the constant fear that is prevalent in most other countries.

I put the Move incident in this thread because I believe that for the last 9 years since 9/11, we have been tap-dancing around the issue of terrorism using such terms as "enemy combatants", "military tribunals" and debating whether those that commit terrorist acts should be kept off-shore in Guantanamo or sent to a civilian federal prison. The whole issue has been wrapped up in the term "war on terror" and something that needs to be handled by the military. Engaging a nation state that harbors terrorists like Afghanistan is clearly a military mission. Dealing with mass murders or those that attempt mass murder in the USA, in my mind, is a crime. A crime that should be handled by civilian law enforcement and tried in the American legal system. Cops like Frank Rizzo didn't pussy foot around and knew how to get the job done. It looks like civilian law enforcement will be getting the tools that they need to get the job done again. "...WASHINGTON – In the wake of the Times Square bombing plot, the Obama administration said on Sunday it wants to work with Congress on possible limitations of the constitutional rights afforded terrorism suspects — even for American citizens.
Attorney General Eric Holder said changes may be needed to allow law enforcement more time to question suspected terrorists before they are told about their Miranda rights to a lawyer and to remain silent under interrogation..."news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100509/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_times_square_mirandaI don't know about you, but I don't have a problem with the local police asking a terrorist where the rest of the bombs are and when they are set to go off before his lawyer arrives on the scene to tell him to shut up.
