John D. Pojawis, Sr.
Born: January 20, 1933
Died: December 30, 2014
On December 30, 2014, of Audubon, NJ. Age 81 years.
Beloved husband of 54 years to Elizabeth Pojawis. Dear father of John D. Jr. (Nancy Cleveland) and Linda Grafton. Loving Grandpop of Timothy, Victoria, Christiana, Eric and Jessica. He is also survived by his brother, Paul of OK, his sister, Mary Marti of VA and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Pojawis was a graduate of King's College, Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was known as Brother Methodius in the Trappist Monastery of Gethsemani, KY. He worked as an insurance agent but most of his career as a social worker for the Camden County Board of Social Services. He was also a member of the Santa Maria Council #1443 K of C and 4th Degree member of Bishop Eustace Assembly #652. Mr. Pojawis attended daily Mass, was a lector and Eucharistic minister, where he served in many parishes, including the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Camden, St. Joan of Arc, Fairview, Holy Maternity, Audubon, St. Rose of Lima, Haddon Heights and St. Vincent Pallotti, Haddon Twp. He loved his family, friends, good jokes, the Phillies, Eagles and the Jersey shore.
Relative and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Sunday Evening 7 to 9 PM and Monday 9:30 to 10:45 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Vincent Pallotti Church, 901 Hopkins Rd., Haddon Twp., NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Interment New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
The family asks for prayers for the Feast of the Holy Family and encourage contributions to Samaritan HC & Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
