You are correct, according to the article, Woodlynne is lowballing (starting pay 32K per year) and who would want to work in Woodlynne anyway. However, the issue is do they want to work or not. Plenty of people have to start over at the bottom when they get a new job. If the Union has rules about accumulated time and wages, let the Union get them a job. Don't you believe the FOP or PBA would forward any info to Officers who were out of work? As to Pastas post...you never go back. If an Officer, and a GOOD productive Proactive Officer does their job, they will certainly look for an opening that is consummate with their last tier wages. To accept anything less is , in my opinion, just someone looking for a steady income and not utilizing their potential or skills. I have met many of that type in my time on the street . No disrespect to your friend Pasta, but he/she should look at the whole picture and to lower oneself professionally...well..I wouldn't do it but...hay...apples and oranges. John Thanks for setting Vinny straight. Stick to internet porn computer boy. DB

As long as someone is collecting Unemployment Comp, he can be picky about the jobs he looks at. Once their Unemployment runs out and they have to feed their family, they will be taking anything they can get including working as a minimum wage security guard.

You are the simpleton - you and your fellow travelers who don't want to work. You attach yourself to other people's posts like a maggot on garbage and chime in with some idiotic side remark. Do you ever have an original thought? You are not worthy enough to carry my jock strap and I wonder why I even bother with you.

Well...here are some stats. Camden county, as of the last count in 2000, had just under 509 K peoples....not counting illegals:). So the info I received as to shared services and , without the Camden Cities included, the ratio should be one Officer on patrol per 1000 residence. Now, you have to figure in the crime count ie: what part of the proposed East or West branches of the Camden County Police Dept. would require more coverage that the other due to the amount of crime stats. That would have to be decided by command personal. Also, there would be 5 Sergeants on PATROL per and not at desk jobs. That, desk job, would be handled by Corporals on a 24/7 basis. There would also be one Lieutenant per 5 Sgts.( day and night command) and HE/She/ would also be ON PATROL in the Division. One Captain per Division ( day and night Command)and he/She would fill in ON PATROL when the Lieut is off. There is more...but I'll let y'all chew on that a little. Constructive comments welcome

How does this plan save money or isn't that a consideration?

That manpower could and should be assigned as to crime patterns meaning if the crime rate is higher on the 4 x 12 shift, you would deploy more patrol on that shift and cut on daywork or 12 x 8am. Read the LOGIC in my post

Trust me.... I know what I'm talking about regarding this... but the logic does not mean all of the fiefdoms within Camden County will subscribe to it nor would the powers. Like the TV show CFO...they should go undercover to REALLY see how everything works

Detective Units, HOMICIDE Unit, Narc Unit, Major Crimes Unit, Domestic Violence Unit / weapons related confiscation. Child Abuse, Crime Lab and Evidence .. etc....these ALL can be combined within the main Headquarters of the Camden County Police Headquarters. This suggestion would free the Prosecutors Office of duties that, in my opinion, are not regulated to their DIRECT physical enforcement but would be an asset to forming their prosecution . Any and all investigative issues, especially related to public officials, should be handled by the Prosecutors Office once the initial investigation and facts , completed by the CCPD. are presented to the CCPO's office . It is also my opinion, the Prosecutor should be an elected official and not, as now, appointed. I can feel the heat now....but it would not be the first time...been there ,done that....but if someone doesn't speak up for 'change"(word) FOR THE BETTER. will it happen??? Look at my suggestions...really peoples...does it not make sense and a cost factor for Camden county. Comments are welcome..especially from Politicians.
