Has anyone else noticed the mess at Albo's Appliance on the Pike? It appears they had some type of sewer or water break on their front lawn. The sidewalk has had ice on it since the first snowstorm. But now there appears to be water running down Merchant St until it freezes. Why would the Boro continue to allow this to run onto the street. It appears that it has been salted, unless it is left over from the snowstorms. My doggie likes a clear sidewalk and this should be cleaned up. Attention Borough Officials!!!!!! I know you are watching

There are leaks like this all over town. Usually I walk my dogs along the RR tracks but recently we stayed on Oakland because of snow. There is a bad icing condition on Oakland and Nicolson and another one on Oswego.
Someone needs to get hurt then the Borough will deal.

My memory might be hazy, but I thought that leak and runoff was always present on that little hill running down from WHP towards Lecato. I walked to my job at Clover along that route for several years.

SNOW...you mean you had SNOW ;D Gloat all you want, JP, but snow isn't the problem anymore. Since the drenching rainfall last weekend, and because the ground is sodden and/or frozen, *every* puddle, leak, or runoff is freezing.

I walked to my job at Clover along that route for several years. Your mind isn't hazy at all as I made some calls today. It seems that for years Albo had a sump pump and pumped his basement water onto E. Merchant St. Evidently it was such a hazard in the winter that the town forced him to stop. My source told me "It is Albo's sump pump and HOPEFULLY the town will cite him". I asked who is paying for the Boro to salt E Merchant St and I was told "You are!!" meaning us taxpayers. PS You think they would make him at least salt his own sidewalk, as it is solid ice.

My shepard uses your front lawn. He loved the scarecrow Santa. ;D ;D ;D In October, it was just a halloween scarecrow, November a Pilgrim and next month a cupid scarecrow, then the Easter bunny, etc. I don't so much mind the dog, but I wish you would stop peeing on it. The neighbors are complaining.

I wonder....if Albo has inconvenienced Audubon Residents for so long....how are they still in business?
Aren't there fines for what's going on? Why isn't this disrespectful "attitude" hindering the business?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
Any other "cover ups"?

I believe that the law is that you can't pump from your sump pump into a sanitary sewer (for example the wash tubs). You need to pump it out of your house, into the street, along the gutter adjacent to the curb and then it runs into a storm drain. Albo is probably in the right with the exception of runoff on the sidewalks. If it rains then freezes, sue God. I see the malcontents and complainers have migrated from the other board to here without any trouble. Sample ordinance

Since yesterdays rain the sump pump is again pumping water onto E. Merchant St. We should fine them $1 million and I don't think that we would be dealing with this issue anymore. Well, since they are not a big oil company maybe only $10,000 - then it would be cheaper to install a proper sump drainage system rather than pumping water across the sidewalk into the street. Good post, I gave you an "exalt". However, I looked later and someone had come along and given you a big ole "smite" and kinda wiped out that Karma addition.
